Exercise Classes with Andy Perkins

For people who have diabetes, the benefits of exercise can’t be overstated. Exercise helps control weight, lower blood pressure, lower harmful LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, raise healthy HDL cholesterol, strengthen muscles and bones, reduce anxiety, and improve your general well-being.

The goal with the fitness sessions in conjunction with Diabetes Guernsey is to offer people with diabetes and relaxed, social environment to exercise in order to help improve their health and manage their diabetes effectively.

Diabetes Guernsey Drop-In Morning

Saturday 23rd January

9:00 am – 1:00 pm | EyeCare Opticians, Commercial Arcade

We will be holding our first Drop-In morning on Saturday 23rd January, where islanders can pop in and get an initial assessment of your diabetic risk and learn more about what we do as a charity.

There will be a number of professionals and charity representatives at the event to greet anyone who pays a visit, including two nurses from the Diabetic Team who will be on hand to answer questions and carry out diabetes risk questionnaires. The questionnaire asks targeted questions to assess your risk level and whether you should see your GP for a more definitive test.

Our aim is to help support people and promote the ‘live well’ with diabetes message. We all have diabetes, and know how isolating it can be. We want you to know that you aren’t alone, so why not pop in for a chat on Saturday?

There will also be some delicious low carb biscuits available thanks to the Unikorn Low Carb bakery!
